Outage Details API

The Outage Details API is used to confirm if an outage exists in the Telstra network for a given Service Number. This outage check is limited to copper cable and associated exchange and network outages impacting PSTN, ULLS, ADSL and Spectrum Sharing Services.

The API currently supports a single operation, ‘outage-details’ which provides the Outage Type, Start Date, Start Time, Estimated Restore DateTime, Outage Description for the requested FNN.

It is recommended that you use this API to confirm if Telstra Wholesale has a record of an outage affecting your end user before creating a new ticket.

Once you have received the successful response from the outage details API and reviewed the outage, the following actions can be performed:

  1. Take no further action.
  2. Log a trouble ticket and request to associate with the outage.
  3. Log a trouble ticket and not associate to the outage.

You can make up to 20 simultaneous connections. Please contact Telstra Wholesale Support if this parameter needs to be adjusted for your company.
